George Bush Intercontinental Airport Terminal C Upgrade
The renovation and upgrades to the 330,000 square-foot terminal “C” in Houston’s largest airport, the primary hub for Continental Airlines, were completed in 2006.
The project included installing new HVAC and plumbing systems throughout the terminal, which features six concourses and 33 gates, while maintaining all scheduled active flight operations. All piping systems were relocated from inside the building to the rooftop to allow for increased architectural ceiling heights with all pipe welded to ASME B31.1 radiographic quality standards. This project required extremely close scheduling, logistics, and coordination with Continental Airlines to achieve uninterrupted flight operations, passenger comfort and AOA safety requirements on the operational flight line.
