The Robert E. Johnson Legislative Building is located steps away from the Texas State Capitol in Austin, Texas and is actually connected to the Capitol via an underground tunnel.
The five-story, 320,000 square-foot facility houses legislative support staff and government offices. The architecture and green design of the building was before its time in 1999. It made use of active computer controlled light tunnels throughout the building, and through coordination of duct and piping systems, saves enormous amounts of lighting energy in the building.
