The reopening of the historic Main Building at The Broadmoor culminated the end of a two-year, three-phase, $75 million project. For phase one, Cobb Mechanical provided The Broadmoor with a spectacular new infinity edge pool at the north end of Cheyenne Lake, complete with waterslides built into Slide Mountain, a children’s wading pool, two 14-person hot tubs, and The Main Pool Café. Lakeside Suites, marking the next phase of construction, opened just north of Main with 21 luxurious rooms topped off by the signature 1,800 square foot Edith K. Gaylord Suite. The final phase of this project showcased Cobb Mechanical’s scheduling and coordination prowess as well as our remodeling capabilities as the complete renovation of the seven–story 131 room Broadmoor Main Building was completed within an accelerated schedule, without disturbing the ambience that guests have come to expect from this five-star resort.
One of the incredible aspects of the project, according to Master Designer, TAG Galyean, is the amount of work that was completed within a six-month timeframe. "Under normal circumstances, this project would have taken 17 months to complete," says Galyean. "That timeframe would assume a 40-hour work week. However, we have compressed 17 months into six, thanks to a highly professional, organized and committed design and construction team dedicated to excellence and delivering the project on time”. |
