The Scott and White facility at the University Medical Center in Round Rock, Texas features heart and vascular, orthopedic, diagnostic imaging, women's and children's services. The four story 72-bed hospital has four operating rooms, six Intensive Care Unit beds, and six/labor/delivery/recovery/post-partum rooms. The central plant houses the origin of the complex cooling and heating system. The heating system is comprised of three 1 million BTU boilers and the cooling system 472 tons worth of chillers. The third floor of the west wing is the mechanical pent house for the custom air handling units that feed the administrative portion of the facility. The patient tower HVAC system is made up of custom rooftop air handling units with a heat recovery system. This project was completed and turned over just over a year after the start of construction.
