Denver Women's Correctional Facility

Cobb Mechanical Contractors worked directly with Reilly Johnson Architecture and GE Johnson on the Denver Women’s Correctional Facility (Phase III). This 310,000 square foot project consisted of eight new buildings, significant additions to five existing buildings, two area remodels and a new central plant. This project included 652 beds: 216 minimum-security, 260 medium-security, 96 close-custody, 48 special-needs and 32 new intake/segregations.

PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS
The mechanical design included a central plant that provided chilled water and steam to each building through an underground utility tunnel system. The project consisted of 53 rooftop-mounted air handling units moving 360,000 CFM of air, two 425-ton chillers and three 40-HP steam boilers. There were 341,300 pounds of Cobb Mechanical Contractors fabricated sheetmetal, 1,372 plumbing fixtures, 61,777 feet of plumbing piping and 27,874 feet of HVAC piping.
